URGENT APPEAL FROM THE CLUB
Following the spread of the coronavirus and the consequent announcement from the ECB that all recreational cricket activities be suspended, management took the decision to put the club into hibernation mode for the foreseeable future.
The outbreak is clearly having significant financial implications for Winchmore Hill CC along with all sports clubs and many other parts of society. Whilst there is still a great deal of uncertainty surrounding this unprecedented situation, everyone at the Club remains positive and united in ensuring we can steer a path through this together. But it is not going to be easy.
Our income stream has come to a stop and it was clear very quickly that in order to manage the situation, we had to find ways of reducing the Club's cost base.
The management committee have introduced a raft of measures to reduce expenditure as much as we possibly can and plan to undertake the minimum maintenance necessary to the clubhouse and grounds. As a result we have managed to reduce monthly outgoings from approx £25,000 to around £5,000 to cover ground maintenance, insurance and utilities.
We remain hopeful that some cricket can be played before the end of the season but the current situation leaves us in a extremely vulnerable position and we are therefor asking for your support at this difficult time.
The decision has been made that no membership subs will be collected for 2020. Any individual who was a member of the club last year will remain a member this year.
However, in order to keep our cricket club financially stable for this and future seasons we are asking members and friends to make a donation.
Any amount will be gratefully received and we can assure you it will be put to good use.
