Nets Refurbishment

9th December 2025

Dear Members,

We are very pleased to announce that the club will be undertaking a complete refurbishment of our outdoor nets this winter.

The existing system has struggled in the strong winds that regularly affect that area of the ground, and we are keen to prevent any potential damage to the playing surface in the years ahead.

The current nets will therefore be fully replaced with a brand-new, 26-metre-long, four-bay steel structure fitted with heavyweight netting designed to perform far better in all weather conditions.

We plan for the installation work to take place during January and February. To minimise any damage from winter storms, the facility will be closed from Friday 28th November, at which point the existing nets and poles will be removed.

The nets are expected to remain closed for up to three months, with a planned reopening no later than 1st March, ready for training in the spring.

We apologise to any hardy members who had hoped to continue outdoor training over the winter. However, both junior and senior indoor training sessions are scheduled from January through March—please look out for further information on these in the coming week.

We look forward to welcoming you all to the upgraded outdoor nets in the spring sunshine.
